Need a vacation? Come see the world with Caldwell Fine Arts! The 2014-2015 Season will showcase live art from around the globe. The international flavor is carried through the season with performances by Anthony Kearns of the Irish Tenors, Eugene Ballet’s performance of the classic Russian Ballet The Nutcracker, and Metales M5, a Mexican Brass Quintet. Other audience favorites are returning this season, like Dancing with the Caldwell Stars (featuring local celebrities!) and McManus and Me, a one-man comedy show based on the writings of popular Idaho author, Patrick McManus. “Ever since we presented our last McManus Comedy, I’ve received emails asking when the next one will be. It’s now!” said Assistant Director, Alison Moulton. The family favorites Clara’s Tea Party, Nutcracker Jr, and Missoula Children’s Theatre, will also continue to delight the little ones.
Sylvia Hunt, Executive Director, is excited to bring back Repertory Dance Theatre Company this season. “We’ve presented this company several times, dating clear back to 1968. They are always an audience favorite.” Caldwell Fine Arts also plans to offer new events, such as the exciting group, VOCO, an award- winning female a cappella group utilizing body percussion. Treasure Valley icons Opera Idaho, Boise Baroque Orchestra, and Ballet Idaho will also present the semi-staged opera, Orpheus and Eruydice, for the first time on the Jewett Stage.
The season promises to be one of the most diverse and exciting ones yet...and that is an accomplishment for an organization that has brought live performance to Caldwell since 1962! Caldwell Fine Arts was formed through a partnership between The College of Idaho and the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce to bring world-class performances to the newly-completed Jewett Auditorium.
